BIO

Hannah is a native of Colorado and grew up in the Fraser Valley. She spent winters on the slopes of Winter Park and summers in Grand Lake performing theatre. Spring and winter breaks were fondly spent traversing I-70 to Kansas City where most of her extended family still reside.

Hannah attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado for both her undergraduate and graduate studies. Some difficult life circumstances as a young person instilled Hannah with the purpose and passion to be the kind of adult she needed when she was an adolescent. With this intent, she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Women’s Studies. Hannah graduated Cum Laude and was also a member of the University Honors Program, Psi Chi (Psychology Honors Club), and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She dove directly into her graduate studies and completed a Master of Education in Counseling and Career Development with an emphasis in School Counseling. Outside of her intensive practicum on campus and internship experiences at traditional and non-traditional schools within the Poudre School District, Hannah worked as a Family Coach focusing on inter-generational trauma for the nonprofit Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth. To pay the bills during her years of schooling, she also worked as a Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Wedding Coordinator.

A small-town mountain gal at heart, Hannah was ecstatic that her post-graduate career took her to Estes Park, Colorado where she worked as the School Counselor for Estes Park High School and then the Mental Health Clinician for Estes Park School District. During this time, she also proudly served on the Board of Directors for Estes Valley Crisis Advocates, Communities that Care, Larimer County’s Behavioral Health Technical Advisory Committee, and volunteered for the Estes Valley Restorative Justice Partnership. Desiring to begin building a family of their own, Hannah and her spouse chose to move to his hometown of Abilene, Kansas.

Hannah utilizes an intentional eclectic therapeutic style with the client as a partner and the therapeutic relationship as the foundation. She creates a safe space in therapy to be truly seen, celebrates difference, strives for change, and develops tools for wellness and wholeness. Hannah believes her past clients and colleagues said it best when she was chosen as Educator of the Year in 2019; “Hannah is very soothing, very calming. She is so helpful in all issues and topics and walks with me through everything. It is really nice to have someone there who you know has your back and will support you. She gets us on a level not many other adults do because she always puts herself in our shoes and listens.”

When not “in session”, you might find Hannah sailing with her spouse, playing with their three dogs, feeding her chickens, gardening, reading, going to yoga, or onstage at a local theatre. By shining her light, she helps others to shine theirs.
