BIO

Dr. Morris: Salina Native, Nationally Trained, Locally Rooted

Dr. Morris is proud to call Salina home. A product of Grace Stewart Elementary, South Middle School, and South High, he grew up immersed in sports, church life, and community values that continue to shape his work today.

After high school, he attended William Penn University in Iowa, earning his BA while also playing collegiate football. He then moved to Los Angeles to pursue advanced training in clinical psychology at the Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University, where he earned both his MA and PhD. During his time in L.A., he also trained at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center.

Dr. Morris completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Community Reach Center in Denver, Colorado. While he valued his time in both cities, the call to come home was strong. In 2006, he returned to Salina to serve the community through his work at Salina Regional Health Center.

Dr. Morris has deep expertise in psychological assessment and specialized training in the Rorschach. He is also a graduate of the Contemporary Psychodynamic Institute in Seattle, Washington, where he currently serves as President of the Board of Directors.

With nearly 15 years of dedicated service at SRHC and a track record of bringing top-tier psychologists to Salina, Dr. Morris is more than a psychologist—he’s a community builder. His experience includes founding a nationally accredited psychology internship program and nurturing new talent, ensuring the community benefits from high-quality care for years to come.

Dr. Morris specializes in working with children, teens, and adults facing long-standing, complex challenges. His approach goes beyond symptom relief, focusing on unlocking your potential and helping you rediscover the joy and “zest” of life. Using Relational Psychodynamic Psychotherapy—a style rooted in compassion and deep understanding—he also draws from CBT and other effective methods to tailor your treatment.

Whether you’re seeking therapy as an individual, couple, or family, Dr. Morris creates a safe, respectful space where true growth happens. He believes that every person has an inherent drive toward health, and his work supports you in tapping into that strength.

Outside the therapy room, Dr. Morris is a lifelong learner who continues to train with the Contemporary Psychodynamic Institute in Seattle, while also mentoring other professionals. His passion for growth mirrors his dedication to helping you flourish.

When he's not working, you can find Dr. Morris enjoying sports, cooking, traveling, or spending time with family and friends.
